Crawley-based Acro Aircraft Seating is celebrating a well-deserved win at the prestigious 2018 Gatwick Diamond Business Awards.
The Crawley-based business was named 'International Business of the Year', an Award sponsored by the Gatwick Diamond Initiative.
Acro is an aircraft seating company specialising in designing and manufacturing seats to meet the needs of discerning airline passengers. Their win was announced at the gala awards evening held at the Effingham Park Hotel. The Gatwick Diamond Business Awards, which celebrates its tenth Anniversary this year, shines a light on the businesses and people who have shown innovation and inspiration in their work, and have demonstrated a real commitment to the world-class Gatwick Diamond region.
As in previous years, the International Business Award category attracted a strong short-list of entries. Judge and sponsor, Rosemary French OBE, Executive Director of the Gatwick Diamond Initiative, explains: “Acro are very worthy winners. They have demonstrated stratospheric performance in terms of their international sales growth over the 10 years since the company was founded. In every area of the business, from the number of apprentices they take on, the long list of new customer acquisitions globally, their innovation in design, through to their manufacturing practices, demonstrates the continuing entrepreneurial spirit of its founder supported by a dedicated team.”
Commenting on their win, Chris Brady, Acro’s Co-founder and Chief Executive, said: “To win International Business of the Year 2018 was a superb accolade to mark the amazing growth and export achievement of Acro over the last year. Recognition not only brings positive PR to our customers and local suppliers but also instils pride in our workforce and helps attract future talent.”
