26 March 2015
Acro Aircraft Seating are flying high on success following their win at the prestigious 2015 Gatwick Diamond Business Awards. The Crawley-based business won the award for International Business of the Year, sponsored by the Gatwick Diamond Initiative.
Their win was announced by celebrity comedian, Hugh Dennis, who compered the gala awards evening attended by more than 600 guests at the Copthorne Effinghham Park Hotel.
The Gatwick Diamond Business Awards celebrate people and businesses that have shown innovation and inspiration in their work, and have demonstrated a real commitment to the region.
As in previous years, the International Business Award category attracted strong contenders. Judge and sponsor, Rosemary French, Executive Director of the Gatwick Diamond Initiative, said: “The judges were looking for a company that demonstrates highly effective and innovative international initiatives. From its base in Crawley, Acro Aircraft Seating has shown a strong commitment to growth and is fast becoming one of the world's leading manufacturers of quality aircraft seating using cutting edge materials and technology systems. Around 80 per cent of the aircraft seats they manufacture are for export, but 95 per cent of their supply chain is UK based. Such international growth has enormous benefits for both the Gatwick Diamond and the UK economy as a whole.”
Commenting on their win, Chris Brady, Managing Director of Acro, said: “We’re delighted to have won this International Business award. Everyone here has been working their socks off these past few years and we grow busier each day. We’re always looking for able, industrious and inspired people to help us grow and perhaps this award will inspire some of them to get in touch.”
