THE LEATHERHEAD & DISTRICT BUSINESS AWARDS NOW 'OPEN FOR BUSINESS'

24 June 2014

Now in its fifth year, the 2014 Leatherhead & District Business Awards scheme run by Prowse & Co Ltd in conjunction with the Leatherhead & District Chamber of Commerce has been officially declared ‘Open for Business’. The scheme gives recognition to the Leatherhead and district business community and demonstrates the contribution it makes to the local and wider economy.

Sponsored by ExxonMobil, The Gatwick Diamond Initiative, Surrey Connects, Unilever, the Leatherhead Advertiser, Barclays, Riverbridge House Business Centre, Mole Valley District Council and Surrey Director magazine, the Business Awards will highlight and promote the achievements of companies and business leaders in the area and celebrate their success.

Commenting on their success, Oliver Hall of Liquid Productions winner of ‘the Best Business’ Award in 2013 said: “Winning the award has been great for Liquid Productions.  It has helped by endorsing us when meeting prospective clients, has given momentum to our ‘work local’ focus and has helped when recruiting. We make sure that all new prospects know that we won the award- it’s a worthy accolade for us!’'

Joanne Rogers, Managing Director at Prowse & Co Ltd said: “We are fortunate to have many leading and diverse businesses within our area, which has inspired us to increase the categories to ten this year.  The Awards highlight and recognise the Leatherhead district’s entrepreneurial stars and corporate leaders – people and companies who go the extra mile to accomplish extraordinary success or inspire others to achieve their potential. “

The Awards are open to any individual or business located within Leatherhead, Ashtead, Bookham, Effingham, Mickleham or Fetcham, the Awards are free to enter and organisations and individuals may enter for more than one category.

The nomination process is simple:

  • Businesses’ self-nominate in a category of their choice using an online form which can be found on the Awards website www.leatherheadawards.com
  • Alternatively, you may also nominate an organisation or individual for any of the award categories.
  • Judges will meet to decide category winners/runners up from nominations.
  • Category winners may be visited by the Judges and an overall winner will be selected.

The entry deadline is Friday 19 September 2014

Entries will be judged by representatives sponsoring an award category from across the Leatherhead district. The selected finalists will be invited to attend an awards ceremony in November where each winner will be presented with a trophy and certificate in front of an audience of around 80 guests.
