HUGE SUPPORT FOR MANOR ROYAL BUSINESS IMPROVEMENT DISTRICT
15 April 2014
A survey conducted following a ‘sell-out’ business networking expo earlier this month revealed that a huge majority of Manor Royal businesses are supportive of the Business Improvement District – the business-led partnership set up to enable the companies of Manor Royal, to decide on improvements and necessary investment.
More than 230 business people from over 100 businesses attended this year’s Know Your Neighbour event, which was held at the Sandman Signature Hotel, Crawley on March 13. The event was an opportunity for companies on Manor Royal – the largest business park in Crawley and the Gatwick Diamond – to meet and discover each other’s services and products.
Following the event, a survey was conducted and 100 per cent of respondents said they were supportive of the Business Improvement District.
"Manor Royal is undergoing a renaissance through the Business Improvement District,” said its Executive Director, Steve Sawyer at the second annual Know Your Neighbour event. “Along with events such as this which encourage local trade, other benefits are now emerging– including a dedicated website for Manor Royal businesses, a quarterly magazine and access to free and reduced-rate services."
“In the pipeline, we have an improved broadband service and better facilities including the development of a ‘People’s Park’ at Crawter’s Brook which will transform an under-managed green area into a usable space for informal meetings, relaxation and respite for Manor Royal staff”.
Plans are also underway for a number of signature capital projects which will improve the overall look, feel and character of Manor Royal over the next few years. Allen Scott Architects are developing a prospectus of projects will include public art installations, landscaping and improved signage.
