COAST TO CAPITAL LEP SEEKS NEW BOARD MEMBER
01 July 2013
Coast to Capital, the Local Enterprise Partnership (LEP) for West Sussex, Croydon, Brighton & Hove, Lewes, East Surrey and the Gatwick Diamond is seeking an experienced business person to join its Board, as a co-opted member for a two year period.
The new role has arisen due to early success. Since Coast to Capital was established in 2011, Government has devolved more responsibilities to the LEP, creating a need for additional expertise and experience in the delivery of its vision.
The Coast to Capital Board comprises nine business leaders plus the Vice Chancellor of the University of Chichester and five local authority leaders. The time commitment required for the role is estimated at two days per month.
Board members take a strategic lead in ensuring that the infrastructure and conditions for economic growth are in place across the LEP's diverse region, which includes both urban and rural areas. This includes the facilitation of the Growing Places Fund and European Structural Investment Funds.
LEP Chairman John Peel OBE, says: “We particularly welcome applicants with prior experience of corporate environments (in areas such as strategic HR), financial services companies or major infrastructure projects. Applications from under-represented groups are particularly welcome.
