27 June 2011

PR firm Prowse & Co has teamed up with asb law to offer companies a masterclass on how to protect company, brand and personal reputations when engaging with social media channels.

PR firm Prowse & Co has teamed up with asb law to offer companies a masterclass on how to protect company, brand and personal reputations when engaging with social media channels.

Whilst many firms are now recognising the benefits of promoting their activities via social media outlets, there is some confusion as to the legal ramifications of intellectual property, copyright and libel issues. This practical workshop will cover the use of social media in the workplace, and the impact it has on corporate and personal reputations.

The workshop will be held on 14th July at Prowse & Co’s offices in Leatherhead and will run from 2.00 pm to 5.00 pm. The delegate cost will be £95 +VAT per person, with an early bird price of £80 +VAT per person for those who book before 1st July. Places are limited and allocated on a first come first served basis.

To reserve a place, please contact Chloe Williams at Prowse & Co on 01372 363386 or email reception@prowse.co.uk.

Joanne Rogers, Managing Director of Prowse says: "In this ever increasingly competitive environment, companies need to take advantage of every communication tactic available, or risk being left behind. Enlightened company directors know that their company’s reputation is its most valuable asset. Learning the benefits and pitfalls when using social media channels is a worthwhile investment of time."

asb solicitor Debbie Vann added: "This is an opportunity for companies to gain a legal understanding of what is for many people a grey area of the law. We will discuss the evolving nature of social media channels and those areas which should be treated with caution. Our masterclass will include real-life case studies and practical steps companies might take to be protected in law".
