All companies locating in the Diamond can access a wide range of business support and information.

Coast to Capital

  • Coast to Capital Growing Places Investment Fund - aimed at projects that have stalled, due to the lack of investment, that will be ready to implement in the short term and will create or unlock job creation.
  • Coast to Capital Funding Escalator - comprises an equity fund and a loan scheme which can provide equity investments up to £125,000 and loans up to £200,000, to small and medium sized businesses (SMEs) in the Gatwick Diamond and its surrounding areas.
  • Coast to Capital Business Growth Grants - The Coast to Capital Region Business Growth Grants Programme has launched. Expressions of Interest from Small and Medium (SME) sized businesses that are looking to grow and to create new jobs are invited.  Grants of between £15,000 and £100,000 will be available to eligible businesses. Only capital items are eligible for expenditure for this grant programme.
  • Coast to Capital Business Navigator Growth Hub -  a portal signposting to local business support and events.

GREAT.gov.uk - support for exporters and inward investors

GatwickDiamondJobs.com - A job board created for the Gatwick Diamond.

Gov.uk - UK Government online portal with a comprehensive range of information, tools, signposting and online advice.

Lets do Business - Access to one off start up loans and learning lunches/ business events.

Reigate and Banstead Business Support - for businesses in Reigate & Banstead Borough council area - a range of business support grants, networking events and newsletters.

Virgin StartUp - a not-for-profit company, which will offer financial support, mentoring and business advice to thousands of young entrepreneurs across the UK. 

Enterprise Europe Network - the largest network of contact points providing information and advice to EU companies on EU matters, in particular small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs).

PartnerFinder - a free searchable database of some 10,000+ European business opportunities where companies can look for specific business partnering opportunities or arrange to have their own offers or requests added.

Business Advice in Surrey - free one to one advice and workshops for start-ups and established businesses in Surrey, delivered by Enterprise First.

South East Sustainability Loan Fund (SESLF)over £1million available to be lent to South East SMEs by the end of the year. Where companies meet the criteria for the SESLF and the matching fund, up to £400,000 of debt funding is available.

Regional Growth Fund - Round 6 of the RGF opened on 19 June 2014. At least £200 million of RGF support is being made available for this round and bidders have until midday on 30 September 2014 to submit their applications to the Fund.

There is no ‘off-the-shelf’ solution from the team – it is always made-to-measure and based on an extensive analysis of the needs of your company.

HM Revenue & Customs (HMRC) has developed an number of e-learning packages with UK Trade & Investment (UKTI) to give you an overview of the various things you need to do for HMRC purposes when trading/exporting overseas.

Enterprise First - Apprentice Guide - There are many advantages to hiring an apprentice, not least the fact that you can test out an employee for a small investment and help them develop into a valuable member of your team.  However, many small firms are unsure about apprentices because of the time and money it costs and the red tape involved.  Enterprise First provides advice and support on taking on an apprentice.

Be the Change (breaking down barriers and raising aspirations).  A collaboration between LoveLocalJobs.com and social enterprise humanutopia, Be the Change is aimed at year 9 students who, for one reason or another, may have become disengaged with school or lack confidence in their own abilities, but have real potential once engaged in an activity that captures their imagination. The programme works with business representatives from organisations across the local area as mentors – helping students to understand what positive changes they need to make in order to realise their aspirations and what qualities are required to be successful in business and the workplace.
