On the Gatwick Diamond's doorstep are the universities of Sussex, Surrey, Brighton and Chichester while East Surrey and Central Sussex Colleges work closely together on courses on offer to young people and those already in employment. They have long term ambitions to enhance the skills of people working in the Diamond to help the area's businesses grow and to raise aspirations. Meanwhile, the area has ambitious plans underway for its own university campus and is already home to several schools, including the Rikkyo Japanese School, which offer the International Baccalaureate.
The Gatwick Diamond is also the world centre for the flight simulation industry, having the largest concentration of training providers.
