‘DETECT INC’ SELECTS GATWICK DIAMOND BASE FOR EUROPEAN H.Q
The Gatwick Diamond Initiative welcomes DeTect Inc’s selection for its first European Office location after assisting with the thorough search process. The DeTect office in Horsham will meet the growing demand for its radar surveillance products in the UK and Europe.
“Over the past three years, DeTect has experienced a significant increase in its overseas business, particularly for projects in western Europe, Asia and Africa and this new office will allow us to maintain the high level of customer support and response that has been a hallmark of DeTect’s success,” said Gary Andrews, DeTect’s CEO. In 2011, the company saw its sales increase by 60% driven primarily by international orders. “Export orders have continued to increase despite the global recession,” said Mr. Andrews.
Three staff members have been transferred to the DeTect EU office which is headed by Edward ‘Zak’ Zakrajsek, a founding member of DeTect. Zak has managed the company’s Field Services Group that has included the oversight of DeTect’s MERLIN™ bird radar and HARRIER™ security system installations in the UK, Belgium, Norway, Poland, Spain, the Netherlands, Turkey, Asia and Africa. Zak said, “My business requires extensive travel so the international Airport was central to my decision to locate our new European branch office in the Gatwick Diamond. We have settled in Horsham with excellent bus and rail links to Gatwick and London, but also because of the beautiful countryside.”
